Joan Wells is our featured artist for our first nature collection, Adventures with Joan. She is an accomplished artist and diver from Poulsbo, WA. She is the biggest crafter-artist I have ever known. Her exceptional craftsmanship and artistry is apparent in every medium she chooses whether that be under water character paintings, greeting card illustrations, jewelry making or or finding new uses for discarded textiles.

 

Her seamstress skills shine through her quality purses, bags and kimono jackets fabricated out of old neck ties that were forgotten about in the back of a thrift store. Each Kimono, like her under water paintings, bring their own character with a color scheme that is vibrant and full of life. The Kimono's also have multiple silk linings make this garment super heavy and high quality! She has had multiple shows on both the east and west coast where she commanded upwards of $20,000+ for her one-of-a-kind Kimono Jackets.

She went on over __ dives during her __ years of diving. She has travelled all over the world in pursuit of the best diving experiences. Most of her illustrations are inspired from her under water experiences. Each character exudes happiness and joy, a goal of Joan's. She wanted people to be happy when they looked at it.

Peninsula Creative Co is honored to bring the Adventures with Joan collection to market. We gave new life to her art with fun, under water, original character illustrations printed on merchandise and apparel.
